Wetenschappelijk onderzoek stressfractuur.nl) kunnen zijn, om zo een nationaal prospectief cohort op te bouwen van stressfracturen op verschillende locaties en daaruit af te leiden welke uitlokkende en prognostische factoren van belang zijn voor preventie respectievelijk adequate behandeling van de stressfracturen. Conclusie Nederlandse BVO clubartsen kunnen elk zesde seizoen in hun team een MT-V stressfractuur verwachten. De voetballers zijn mediaan 4 maanden niet wedstrijdfit. In de literatuur wordt hiervoor chirurgische behandeling geadviseerd, wij vonden daarvoor in Nederland geen sluitend bewijs.
