VOORWOORD PREFACE W elkom in Rotterdam, welkom bij de KO16 van de Euro Hockey League en welkom in dit lustrumboek, dat na dit voorwoord geheel in het Engels is geschreven. Wij vieren het eerste lustrum van de KO16 van de EHL. En opnieuw zijn we te gast bij de succesvolle Hockey Club Rotterdam. Met 16 clubs beginnen we aan het paasweekend en als dat voorbij is, weten we wie zich gekwalifi ceerd hebben voor de halve fi nales met Pinksteren. De charme van dit evenement is dat elke wedstrijd beslissend is. Er zijn meer verliezers dan winnaars want van de 16 beste clubs van Europa blijven er maar 4 over. De KO16 van de EHL is een jaarlijkse reünie van hockey liefhebbers. De jaarlijks groeiende groep supporters komt met hun clubs mee. Zij zorgen voor de ambiance die topsporters stimuleren om te laten zien dat ze tot de beste hockeyers ter wereld behoren. Ik wens u veel plezier, spectaculaire sport en mooi weer. Once again we are guests at the succesfull Hockey Club Rotterdam. We will begin the Easter-weekend with sixteen clubs, afterwards we will know who qualifi ed for the semi-fi nals at Whitsun. The appeal of this event is that every match is decisive. There are more losers than winners: of the 16 European top teams only 4 will remain. EHL’s KO16 is an annual reunion for hockey lovers. The group of fans travelling with their team grows bigger every year. They provide the atmosphere that stimulates top athletes to show they are the best hockey players in the world.
