Most Valuable Player

68 Three EHL-superstars: Moritz Fürste, Rob Short, and Teun de Nooijer JOHN VAN VLIET & TIES ABEN An individual athlete can’t win a team sport. He or she can however be named man or woman of the tournament. Not surprisingly the honorary title of Most Valuable Player has been awarded to a player of the winning team four times in the four years of the European Hockey League. At the end of the very fi rst EHL in 2008 Moritz Fürste, player for UHC Hamburg, was proclaimed the ultimate ace; in 2010 the honorary title MVP was again awarded to the German midfi elder. The other winners were Canadian Rob Short in 2011 (player for HGC) and Dutchman Teun de Nooijer in 2009 (Bloemendaal). Pagina 67
