3.1 Most prevalent innovation fields Performance measurement has been the prevalent area for sport innovations. 36 of the 169 answers were related to new methods, devices and applications for registration and monitoring. Sporting equipment and methods of training were also frequently noted. Sport and science experts did not greatly differ in regard to what they considered the most prevalent areas of sport innovation. However, some interesting differences could be observed. The sport experts more often mentioned performance measurement innovations (24% vs. 42%). Science experts more often identified innovations in the areas of equipment, organization, nutrition and medical.
