SUMMERY 4 Summary First ever Elite sport poses a challenge for all involved to keep track of new developments. This is why InnoSportNL, the independent knowledge center for sport innovation in The Netherlands, decided to initiate an international survey to identify the most important innovations and developments in ten major Olympic sports during the last Olympiad (2008-2012). This report is the first ever based on the findings gathered from a panel of more than fifty international experts in elite sport and sport science. Insights According to our panel of experts performance measurement and sporting equipment were the most prevalent innovation areas in the 2008-2012 period. Athletics and cycling were the sports in which most innovations took place. Pagina 3
