Behandeling met PEMF is mogelijk effectief bij de behandeling van sporters met MTSS. Of behandeling met PEMF daadwerkelijk effectiever is dan behandeling met placebo, en of dit ook klinisch relevant is, zal uit een toekomstig RCT moeten blijken. De klinische toepasbaarheid is op dit moment niet optimaal. Het draagcomfort zal verbeterd moeten worden. Wat de meest optimale behandelingsduur is, zal verder onderzocht moeten worden. Opvallend was dat ondanks de intensieve behandelingsduur en het matige draagcomfort veel deelnemers (70.6%) zich opnieuw zouden laten behandelen met PEMF als deze effectief zou blijken bij de behandeling van MTSS. Hieruit concluderen wij dat sporters met MTSS hun blessure als dusdanig vervelend ervaren, dat zij er veel voor over hebben om van de klachten te herstellen.
